Earning the Chemistry ASCP certification could be a daunting challenge.

Notwithstanding what it may cost you, with your ASCP certification, you stand in front of an open door to many opportunities in the medical laboratory profession.

But you can only achieve the desired success in your ASCP certification exam when you get the MLSIA ASCP Chemistry Course.

MLS ASCP Chemistry Course Program comes with:

What Is The ASCP?

The ASCP was established in May 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri, after a two-day extraordinary meeting of over 100 physicians listed as clinical pathologists in the 1992 Directory of the American Medical Association.

The ASCP objectives are,

  • To promote the practice of science and push for more application of clinical laboratory methods.
  • Encourage widespread research across all aspects of clinical laboratory medicine.
  • Regularly establish standards for laboratory exams.
  • Promote the professional status of members.
  • Encourage cooperation between physicians and clinical pathologists.

The ASCP Board of Certification is responsible for setting standards and awarding credentials to all laboratory professionals who meet the standard in knowledge and clinical experience.

What Does ASCP Chemistry Certification Mean To You?

Although a professional certification like the ASCP Certification will cost you money, energy, and time, it comes with a hefty payoff in the long run.

As a Chemistry technologist, your voice revolves around performing analysis on blood and body fluids to ascertain the chemical content in the specimen.

Earning an ASCP certificate offers so many benefits, including,

  • Validates your skills
  • Gives you a competitive edge
  • Enhances your earning potential

ASCP Chemistry Exam Overview

The Chemistry and Specialist ASCP exam comprises 100 multiple-choice questions administered through the computer adaptive testing (CAT) system.

You are only given 150 minutes (2 and a half hours) to provide answers to the questions.

The CAT format is designed to test your ability.

When taking the ASCP certificate exam, any correct answer you provide to a question leads to another question with a slightly higher difficulty level.

However, failing to provide a correct answer will lead to a next question of lesser difficulty level.

All the Chemistry and Specialist ASCP Certificate questions are derived from the BOC stipulated content areas and topics.

They equally have a specified percentage contribution to all the certificate exam questions.

The BOC content areas and percentage include,

General Chemistry (15-25%)

Proteins And Enzyme (15-25%)

Special Chemistry (15-25%)

Acid-Base, Blood Gases And Electrolytes (15-25%)

Laboratory Operations (15-20/20-25%)
