International Eligibility Routes for H (ASCPi)

  • Route 1: Medical laboratory science training program in chemistry, microbiology, hematology, and blood banking and bachelor’s degree in medical lab science, chemistry, or biological science.
  • Route 2: Baccalaureate degree in medical laboratory science and three years of clinical experience in microbiology, hematology, chemistry, and blood banking.
  • Route 3: Baccalaureate degree and medical laboratory science program of two years in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood banking.
  • Route 4; Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biological science and five years of clinical experience in blood banking, hematology, chemistry, and blood banking.
  • Route 5: Baccalaureate degree, two-year diploma in biological science or chemistry, and clinical experience (five years) in microbiology, hematology, chemistry, and blood banking.

U.S. SH (ASCP)

  • Route 1: H/MLS ASCP certification, baccalaureate degree, and three years of clinical experience in hematology.
  • Route 2: Master’s degree in biology, microbiology, allied health, or other related subject and three years of clinical experience in hematology.
  • Route 3: Doctorate in chemistry, microbiology, allied health or other related field, two years of post-doctoral fellowship in clinical hematology, or two years of clinical experience in hematology.
  • Route 4: H/MLS ASCP credential, a doctorate in chemistry, allied health, biology, or other appropriately fields, and one year of clinical or research experience in hematology.
  • Route 5: H ASCP certification or MLS ASCP certification, baccalaureate degree, and three years of clinical hematology experience as an academic educator.
  • Route 6: ASCP H/MLS credential, doctorate in relevant subjects, and one year of clinical hematology experience as an academic educator.

International SH (ASCPi)

  • Route 1: H ASCP/ASCPi or MLS ASCP/ASCPI credential, baccalaureate degree, and three years of clinical experience in hematology.
  • Route 2: Master’s degree in biology, medical lab science, chemistry or an appropriatly relevant field, hematology clinical experience of three years.
